DAY 3
" This morning we went back to have some lessons ; we learnt about the origin of the English language and we were told that it was mixed : celtic +{anglo-saxon/Norse/Latin}= old English + French = modern English.
Then we had some playful activities in a drama class.
After a quick lunch, we took the bus to go to Portsmouth! There, divided into three groups, we discovered a battleship called HMS Victory which is famous for its role during the balle of Trafalgar and because of Admiral Nelson. It is a very old and huge boat, yet inside, ceilings are low and tall people must have spent their time bending down.
We continued our day trip with the visit of the Dday museum. We saw a documentary on WWII and we observed a "fake bayeux tapestry", we also had to answer a quiz!
Then we were told that we were going to another museum about the British symbols and we finally discovered that it was an amazing joke from our too dear teachers...in fact they took us bowling!
And here are the results :
Best team : the teachers...Youssef won so Mr Mebo cried!Congratulations to him eventhough he lost!
Best students team : Jade, Anna, Charlène, Rémy, Quentin and Thibault!!
Best overall player : Théo with 150points
So all this fun time thanks to our teachers!!!
After all this we drove back to our host families

Thank you Julie, I have to make a few things clear though:
RépondreSupprimerFirst, I didn’t cry: I had some dust in my eyes!
Then, I didn’t lose: I played for the team and I just didn’t want to show off how good I actually was… So I showed humility! It’s that easy!
Hope you don’t call that bad faith ;-)
